Alan srl produces electricity from renewable sources in the Zinasco and Voghera plants. Production takes place through the fermentation of MSW organic fraction in anaerobic biodigesters where metanigenic bacteria transform  organic matter into biogas, which is then used in CHP systems to generate power partially used for internal consumption while the rest is injected into the grid. This is a virtuous cycle that valorizes the efforts of citizens to carry out separate waste collection as well as the investments and the commitment of Alan srl in recovery activities. This allows to avoid the disposal of MSW organic fraction in landfills or incinerators, by producing compost and renewable energy, hence reducing the use of fossil fuel energy.
